User Interface Features
ORM framework support is not the only strength of ORM Designer. It's built on a well designed user interface which makes creating models fun. We focused on clear and well-arranged data model visualization and easy navigation through models with tens of tables. That all is wrapped in modern user interface. To reduce the possibility of error we added transparent consistency checking.
Model Visualization
- Regions:
Model can be split into visual areas called regions. Each area can have different background color.
- Column types icons:
Primary keys, foreign keys and regular columns have different icons. - Grid: Clever grid with customizable spacing and grid attachement intensity.
Graphical User Interface
- Ribbon menu:
User friendly menu with important icons highlight and inline help on mouse over. - Navigator: Navigator is a model miniature with visible model borders. You can quickly scroll through the model.
- Inline help: ORM Designer contains inline help at complex task and at ORM attributes.
Working Faster
- Shortcuts:
All common tasks can be called through shortcuts. Inline help for shortcuts. - Context menu: Tasks can be performed by either clicking on a visual object or by clickin in project tree.
- Automated table placement: When adding multiple tables at once it faster better to add them through project tree and ORM Designer places the tables automatically.
Model Consistency Check
- Smart delete:
Columns are automatically added when creating relations and removed on relation delete. - Model consistency: Tables are checked for correct placement in plugin or project and for primary key existence.
